SC v5.0 adds iCalendar importing
Importing iCalendar schedules using Splendid
City
Splendid City, as of version 5.0 (Lite and
Professional) can import iCalendar schedules produced by 3rd party software and
create Splendid City project schedules to be analyzed, published (Pro only), or
exported as Splendid City xml object
files.ICalendar is a popular cross
platform calendering format using by a wide variety of software programs
available in the software marketplace. like Apple's iCal , Mozilla
Calendar , Novell
Evolution , and Microsoft
Works . In addition, webmasters can also publish icalendar files
using the free open source PHP iCalendar
program.With the iCalendar import
features, Splendid City users can create a schedule in Splendid City, export the
schedule in an iCalendar format to be imported into their calendaring program of
choice.Users may then edit the schedule within the calendar view and re-import
the schedule back into Splendid
City.Users may also completely create
schedule events (VEvents) within their calendaring programs and import those
events as games along with all the associated event objects into a Splendid City

RequirementsIn order to
successfully import data from the calendar programs described above to SC,
certain format requirements need to be met. They are as
follows: 1. The calendar entry must
by of type VEvent 2. The VEvent SUMMARY
should specify the name of the participating teams i.e. "home vs away" (the
teams must be separated by a the delimeter '[space] + 'vs' +[space]' to be
correctly recognized. 3. The VEvent
LOCATION must be defined.
